NEW REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT | HEALTH CARE SERVICES PLATFORMS

Beginning January 1, 2026, each Health Care Services Platform operating in Utah must be registered with the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL), and comply with certain legal requirements.

  • A “platform” is an electronic program, system, or application through which a health care worker may accept a shift to perform a health care service or role, as an independent contractor, at a health care facility.
  • The legal requirements are in Utah Code Section 58-90-101.

Registrations must be renewed annually, by December 31 of each calendar year.

  • The renewal fee is $500.
  • You must notify DOPL (using DOPL’s form, at no charge) within 10 days of any of the following changes to your registration information:
    • change in website domain name,
    • change in contact person, or
    • change in business legal name.  (You do not need to notify DOPL of any change in ownership.)
