Accommodations

We are committed to providing equal access to our licensing exams for all candidates, including those with disabilities regulated under the Adults with Disabilities Act (ADA) or are English Language Learners (ELL). If you require accommodations, our exam administrator offers various options to support your needs.

How to Request ADA Accommodations:

• Documentation: Gather the necessary documentation from a qualified professional that outlines your disability and the specific accommodations needed.

• Submission: Submit your documentation and a completed request form to Prov Exam. Be sure to do this well in advance of your desired test date to allow sufficient time for processing.

• Approval: Once your request is reviewed, you will receive confirmation of the accommodations that can be provided. Our vendor will contact you to schedule your exam.

How to Request ELL Accommodations:

• Documentation: Gather any documentation that may indicate that English is not your native language. This could include letters from school/administrator indicating English proficiency level, ELL enrollment programs, Language Evaluation Report, history of accommodations, and so on.
• Submission: Submit your documentation with a brief description of your request to doplexams@utah.gov.
• Approval: Once your request is reviewed, it will be forwarded onto our exam vendor. Our vendor will reach out to you to schedule your exam. Please do not schedule your exam until someone from Prov contacts you.

At-Home Testing

Online proctoring allows you to take your exams from the comfort of your home while ensuring test integrity and security. With real-time monitoring, a proctor supervises your exam remotely via webcam and microphone. This process includes identity verification, environment checks, and continuous observation throughout the test. Online proctoring combines convenience with rigorous standards, providing a secure and efficient solution for at-home testing.

To ensure you are properly prepared for this type of testing environment, test your home computer equipment with the following system check software. Be sure to do this at least a couple days prior to your test session to ensure you are prepared on the day of your exam.

Out-of-State Testing

If you are living out of state and need to take one of our licensing exams, you may not need to travel. Many of our written exams can be taken from your current location, whether at home or at a college testing center.
