Welcome

The Uniform Building Codes Training Fund was created by the legislature under the Uniform Building Standards Act, Title 58-56, effective April 1989 in an effort to achieve uniformity of enforcement throughout the state, improve the safety and quality of construction.

Each compliance agency in the state, which enforces the statewide adopted building codes, charges a 1% surcharge on all building permits issued and submits 85% of the amount collected to our division to be utilized by the Division to provide education regarding the statewide adopted building codes and code amendments to building inspectors and individuals engaged in construction related trades.

To provide the training required by this statute, the Division provides funding grants to the associations and schools to subsidize their training programs. The following organizations and schools have received funding grants for building codes training courses and may be contacted directly to obtain information and scheduling.
