Electrician Exam Changes Coming August 1, 2025

Beginning August 1, 2025, the electrician licensing exams will be updated. Journeyman and Residential Electricians will take a single, combined exam covering both Theory and Code. Master Electricians will take a new Law and Rules exam.

If you’ve already passed either a Theory or Code exam by July 31, 2025, you have until October 31, 2025, to complete the other under the current format. After that, all candidates must test under the revised structure.
