Massage Establishments

DOPL anticipates accepting applications for massage establishments in early 2026. Stautory changes are effective October 1st, 2025, DOPL then has 180 days to legally finalize the administrative rules and implement the new registration process.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Division of Professional Licensing is discontinuing its in-house fingerprinting services. If you are applying for a license that requires a fingerprint background check, follow the "Submitting Fingerprint Cards" instructions.

NEW LICENSE CLASSIFICATION | EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS

Coming January 1, 2024, Utah will be introducing two new license classification, Massage Therapy Assistant and Massage Therapy Assistant in-training. Additionally, we will be introducing a new law and rule exam requirement for the Massage Therapy Apprentice and a written exam for the Massage Therapy Assistant. Both will be introduced with the publication and approval of proposed rule OAR 156-47b.
